Working from home has become essential as we settle into second lockdown. Become a typing contractor with Sterling Transcription and work from home. Find out more here.
Fast and accurate touch typist interested in transcription contracts working from home. I was taught in school to type without looking at the keyboard. This skill has proved extremely valuable over the years and although I do not have experience in transcription services, I have a proven track record in meeting deadlines and the skills to provide an exemplary service.
Hi Jennifer, thank you for your insightful comment. I completely agree with you, the skill of touch typing is extremely valuable. I too was taught touch typing at school, and while I didn’t enjoy the subject at the time (the teacher made every effort to eliminate any sort of enjoyment from the task at hand, and frequently used a ruler across the knuckles to emphasise that fact!), I am extremely grateful that the course was compulsory, and that I successfully completed the subject. I have used this skill to great effect during my working life.
I do know of a number of typing contractors who do not touch type, but they are also people who utilise other technologies, such as bespoke macros and keyboard shortcuts. It really comes down to individual preference, and playing to your strengths.
I encourage you to have a look at the Careers section of our website, and if you feel that typing contracting is the job for you, please submit an application via our website. We are currently recruiting, so now is the time to apply.
